Field-Tested Confessions Now for Church and Personal Use
Author and pastor’s wife Barbara R. Duguid and CCEF staff member Wayne Duguid Houk will release Prone to Wander: Prayers of Confession and Celebration, available from P&R. Developed and field-tested for church use, but also ideal for personal devotions, these modern prayers confess contemporary heart and behavior struggles and always point our gaze upward to our great Savior. The book features hymn and Scripture indexes that allow for integration into worship services.
“Duguid and Houk show how the heart longing for reconciliation with God can find peace and beauty in biblical confession,” says Bryan Chapell, senior pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Ill.
Leland Ryken, professor of English at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill., says, “This book has many virtues. One is its flexibility in being adaptable to a range of situations, including public worship and private devotions. . . . The book covers the whole of the Christian life. I love its overall aims and the method, as well as the execution of details.”
